If money was direct deposited into my account on a Tuesday when should I expect the money to clear?

How long do banks normally take to clear a direct deposit? It's a one time deposit from a return of tuition that I over paid. I was told that the schools bank released the funds on Tuesday. The reason I ask is because I'm with Bank of America and I've had issues with them withdrawing automated checks as well as direct depositing. They always seem to mess up my account number!|||Generally the moment the Direct Deposit is in the account, it's available.
