I paid 拢500 deposit to a uni to do the LPC. I have decided for various reasons that I am going to wait for another year or two and do the course part time at a different uni. I have missed the deadline of withdrawing from the course. I have heard from a friend that did this course, that 2 years ago, they had oversubscribed and were pratically bribing people to leave. So I assume that they do not have strict numbers that they can only permit, furthermore the course is an very popular one and they won't be short of students. ( and therefore money)
I should point out that it is law school, so obviously they will be s hit hot on thier legal rights.
I am thinking of making up some excuse, such as a bereavement or illness, as to why I missed the deadline for withdrawing. I don't have any intention of attending this uni so am not bothered if they twig on. I just want my 拢500 back.
My question is, has anyone been in this situation before? or know of anyone that has been in this situation and the outcome?
|||You sign. a contract, you know the rule, you were not in the Hospital,
you are not died, you are not in prison, you are not in the arm forces, so what the HELL do you want from the people BLOOD?
You are WRONG %26amp; still want to be STRONG?
The chance of you getting back that money is very, very, very SLIM so
you can say good by to it!. |||I think you should tell the truth but say that whilst you realise that a reasonable deduction for administration costs is entirely appropriate, you would be most grateful if ... blah, blah, blah. If it took you a bit of time to actually sort out what you are going to do, just admit to that and throw yourself on their mercy. I think you are more likely to get it back that way - they will see the lies as a personal insult to the intelligence and a challenge and be against you.|||Hi, Legally they do not have to return your deposit, as you have missed the date. Your only way of getting it back is to basically 'blag em' but make the blag believable, a death is too common, if you really want it back, lie a little more... I would say that I was on holiday in Greece and was drugged and 'taken advantage' of, that I was in hospital there and had to go to various 'line ups' at the police station etc, your mind has been all over the place and you have now to return to Greece to give evidence at court as they have caught the culprit.
If your convincing and the story is told in a way that most would believe it, you'll get back your money.
How many people would of told them there had been a death in the family, previously?
Lots I am guessing.
How many would of been drugged and raped abroad before?
I am guessing 0, or maybe 1....
Its a no brainer.
Good Luck Anyway
