Obtained a secured credit card ($300 limit). Was attached to a checking account. Allowed me to withdraw from account with a debit card. However every time I withdrew , I was charged an overdraft charge. We argued, finally just gave the card back. I owed $237 (according to the collection amount on my credit report). Settled for $187. Still showed up on report as not been paid. The bank claims I forfeited the $300 deposit ,and the money I paid was for a different bill. How do I pursue the bank? Small claims. need Ideas.|||forget it -- you do not have a case -- i am sorry the bank is legal in what they are doing -- it is just a shame they took you because you did not know better!!!|||You got scammed.
I've read these offers before, they actually expect you to keep at least 300 dollars in the account. If you go under its NSF. Yours could be different. But those companies are there to make money. You are going to have to pay it.
From now on, get 1 credit card, from a regular bank, and pay it off each month in full.
Do not become a slave to paying high interest credit. This is why the rich get richer and the poor get poorer. The poor become slaves to interest.
Save for the things you want. Then buy them.
