We are renting a home in california with century 21, we have been living here for a couple months and had not yet paid the pet deposit of 280. We paid the rent on time on the 1st and on the 5th we got a phone call from an agent telling us that she had taken out the pet deposit from our rent payment and that we had not paid the rent in full because of the withdraw. Now we are getting a 3 day notice for not paying the rent in full and we cannot afford this until this upcoming Monday. Is it legal for them to do this without our authorization? what can we do if it isn't?|||Money owed is money owed, period. Of course they can evict you for nonpayment.
In all actuality, they shouldn't have let you moved in before you paid the deposit. You squandered a huge favor they offered, and are now mad because they aren't letting you leech anymore?
Pay up or get out, now. If you can't afford the pet deposit, then you can't afford a pet. If you can't pay all deposits, plus first and last month's rent PRIOR to moving in, then you can't afford to be renting. Maybe you should look into staying with friends or family for awhile until you get on your feet, assuming you can find someone willing to take a pet in. Of course, I would get rid of the pet before becoming homeless.|||Yes. Any money ever given to the landlord can be applied to any money currently owed. If that includes a pet deposit then it is legal. NO landlord ever needs any tenant's authorization to do that. They clearly got tired of you not paying the deposit.
Just so you know, they could have applied the $ to the rent %26amp; still evicted you for not paying the deposit. Either way you still owe them money. You are the one that has not paid the deposit after a couple months %26amp; you have to deal with that.|||You seem to be aware of this pet deposit fee, so I'm betting it is in your rent contract. Ask them for a copy of it. If there's no mention of the deposit, then you have a legitimate dispute. If it is mentioned...you need to find a means to pay the rent.
If that's the case, I suggest borrowing the $280 from friends or family and then honoring that loan. But if no one can help you out, you may need to look into those quick loan places you see everywhere such as Check Into Cash. They would take the money from your next payroll, plus a fee.
You might also ask your Century 21 office if they will work with you until Monday. Can't hurt to ask.
Good luck.

I need information about a bank account freeze?
Well, last week I couldn't get into my checking account online. When I spoke to the Rep. she said that the account was frozen. My husband has a separate account at a credit union and we have an account together (not a credit union). I would make a transfer from the credit union to the regular account online, then two days later I would do it again and then withdraw to deposit what I have transferred originally. The reason I did that was that I had no time to deposit my paycheck due to the bank closing before I could get there. Well the credit union requested my regular bank to put a freeze on the account. Did I commit fraud? I have always done this in the past. However, this time I had to do it more than two times during the same week. Can anyone tell me anything about this? Oh and no the amount in the credit union account was not enough to cover the transfer. Only serious answers! (This has put me in a hole more than the amount of the original transfer, I already figured out this was an obviously dumb thought)|||It looks like (to them) you are doing fraud by transferring back and forth. Why not set it up as a direct deposit transfer. Can your work directly deposit your check? See what they can do for you rather than you having to do all these transfers.|||"account was not enough to cover the transfer."
If you didn't have the money, why did you attempt the transfer?|||What does a "freeze" mean? Did you get slapped with a tax lien? Close the account and don't put any more money in it? Did you have insufficient funds? Didn't you get any kind of notice or letter in the mail?
GO INTO THE BANK AND FIND OUT WHY YOU HAVE NO ACCESS TO YOUR OWN FUNDS IN THAT ACCOUNT!. If you have direct deposit, go to your employer and stop it right away! If it's a tax lien, they can drain any other account you have. Make sure hubby has own separate accounts, (maybe start new one) that they can't touch.

Bank taking back deposit?
I had $1,040.00 in my checking account. I put in a check for 1,950.00. the next day it cleared. I withdrew the exact amount of the check i deposited. this means the check has cleared. why else would the bank let me withdraw more then i could cover. 5 days later the check was returned insuficient funds. if the bank released the funds to me they must of got the wire transfer from the other bank, being i only had $1040.00 in there at the time. can they do this. since when does a bank let you withdraw on funds that are not there. i do not overdraft protection|||Yes the bank can do this.I work for a national bank so let me try to explain. When you deposited your check most banks give you the credit for the deposit on good faith that this will be a check that will be good. The only exception to this is if your account is brand new.Sometimes it takes banks processing to get paid for the check up to 7 to 12 days which is called REG cc deposit holds in which they are trying to get paid on the check. If the check does not get paid by the bank its drawn on then they return it to you. If you have taken money out of your account then your bank will expect you to make good on the overage as they ex tented you the right to use the money on good faith. Note the issue lies with the person who gave you the check for 1950.00 if that check is no good then they caused all of this and should pay you any fees that your bank charged as the check should have been good. Also overdraft protection is key here this would save you any fees down the line.Good Luck

It's the same story every time we get close to our 拢5000 she takes out a good few hundred to go shopping, we'll never get a deposit at this rate, any ideas how to stop her withdrawing our money?|||give it all to me hun!!! that will stop her!!!

Problem with bank account, memeber variables?
Hi I have a roblem with my C++ code, I am writing a banck account class with its derived classes(saving, checking and VIP). there is a memeber variable transaction that I want to initialize it with zero when I start each class. the problem is that I think I'm not initializing it in a right way. How should I do that.(so each time that it doeas deposit and withdraw it would be transaction++)
Thanks,
Shahrzad|||what do u mean by each class starts? each instance of the class; put transaction = 0 in the constructor. otherwize u can make transaction as a static variable and use a static block to initialize it.|||It could be a problem later on or one with your initializing. Can you explain it a bit more thouroughly? Here's my email; I'll try to help: crachedkelpie@yahoo.com

Fractional-reserve banking depends on the assumption that?
a. not all depositors will withdraw their deposits at the same time.
b. most banks will have assets that outweigh liabilities.
c. banks generally make more sound investments than poor investments.
d. at least a portion of our currency, though not all, is backed by gold.
e. the FDIC insures all banks loans up to $100,000|||Answer is A.
It is called fractional-reserve banking because they can lend out a fraction of the deposits made by their clients, thus having only a fraction of their clients' money in their vaults. So it is virtually insolvent from the get go. Because if people started demanding their money at the same time, these fractional banks will not be able to answer their obligations to their clients as they don't have all the money in their vaults.
I also agree with trevor h.|||It depends on the assumption that our central bankers and the federal reserve are smarter than the market and can actually anticipate risk. It relies on the assumption that the rest of the world will continue to invest in our economy and prop it up with their savings as we continue to consume like crazy and drive up our debt. It depends on the assumption that if all else fails the government can print more money and shore up our economic problems.

How to cancel a bank account?
I want to cancel one of my bank account in wells fargo...I wonder whether some extra fee will be charged and can I withdraw all the deposit at a time? thank you....|||Call them and ask to cancel it. If you have money in there, they will want the request in writing and will send you a check. If you are able to pull your money out, then they can probably do it right then for you over the phone.|||I did this once but took all my money out beforehand. Then closed it a while later. Don't know if they can charge you a fee or not, but if there is nothing in the account already it makes it harder for them to do so.|||Just write yourself a check for the remaining balance and deposit it into your new account. |||call them to cancel it or go to the bank itself with account issue and such.
